What will I eat on a camping safari?

The amazing culinary skills of the camp assistants are often praised by travellers, and rightfully so. Hearty meals are served fresh from the coals of a bush fire. When booking a camping adventure with YŪGEN tours, we take note of any guest dietaries and generally it is possible to cater for vegetarians, vegans, low carb, gluten-free and lactose intolerant. Every year the team does a training to ensure consistency and complete enjoyment of flavour amidst the sights and sounds of the African landscape.

When I went on a camping safari, I requested vegetarian meals and I was amazed about the joy and accuracy with which they provided me delicious food. The cook would come and consult me each day about the meal he was planning on making that evening. Once he knew I do eat chicken, he made me chicken in every possible way that you can imagine and always served it with a big smile. Do not expect a vegetarian hamburger, but do find yourself getting a second plate and maybe even a third one full of fresh ingredients mixed together and spiced in an extraordinary way. Every evening by the time dessert arrived, I wished I had not eaten that much already.

YŪGEN tours offers 7 different camping routes through Botswana and parts of neighbouring countries, as well as 2 short glamping experiences along the most famous parks of Botswana.
