With so many fantastic things to see and do in Costa Rica, even if you have 4 weeks of holiday it will never be enough. Usually, when making customized itineraries it does not make sense to try and combine this magnificent and varied country with even more things to see and do in neighboring countries. That is why we mostly stick to Costa Rica itself.  So why write a blog about hopping over to Panama?

Why would you hop over to Panama?

If you are visiting Costa Rica for a fifth time, if you are staying for months, if you do not need to travel for ten hours to get there or if you are traveling on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica and have some days to spare, hopping over to the mesmerizing islands of Bocas del Toro does make sense.

Dispersed in the Caribbean Sea these islands make a perfect getaway for beach bumps who like snorkeling, swimming and kayaking in turquoise waters. After a rest at one of the idyllic beaches covered in white sand and palm trees, take a boat back to the main island in the evening for some great food and drinks. Colorful wooden piers, houses, restaurant terraces and hotels built on stilts guarantee the most breath-taking sunsets. The driest months to visit Bocas are January to March.
