In all our destinations there are registered cases of COVID-19 and so all destinations have implemented new rules concerning travel in and out of the country. These new rules can change or be prolonged at any time, making it difficult to provide clear and up-to-date information. Sometimes info is outdated only a few days later. Therefor we advice to follow up on the most recent information online on official websites which offer travel advice, such as the website of your own government as well as the websites of the destinations.

Belgian citizens can follow up on the travel advice for Costa Rica by clicking the following link:

Blog posts about the current situations in Portugal and the Azores will follow. In case of questions about your upcoming holiday, please contact hello@yugentours.com, as well as the airline you have chosen to fly with.

Costa Rica closed until April 13th

The first case in Costa Rica was established on March 6th. Meanwhile there are luckily still less then 100 cases. More and more measures have been gone into effect ( closing schools, no more events can take place etcetera). Currently there is no way of knowing if the number of cases will stabilize or grow over the days to come. The Costa Rican government has decided to not allow any international travelers into the country for a period of 25 days, starting from March 18th. This means that:

- you will not be allowed to enter the country between March 18th and April 13th. In case you have booked a holiday to Costa Rica with us within this period of time, please contact us asap so we can look at possible solutions.

The full statement of the Costa Rica Tourism Board is as follows:

Statement by the Costa Rica Tourism Board on COVID-19

Given the importance of preventing and avoiding the spread of the coronavirus caused by the COVID-19 disease that has been declared an international pandemic, the Costa Rica Tourism Board (the ICT) informs its tourism partners that the Government of the Republic has ordered that only Costa Ricans and residents may enter the country for 25 days.

The measure applies from March 18, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. through April 12 at 11:59 p.m. and applies to ports of entry by air, sea and land.

Upon entering the country, Costa Rican citizens and residents will receive a health order and will have to stay in their homes for 14 days in compliance with preventive and compulsory isolation.

International tourists currently in national territory will be able to leave the country in an orderly manner and must coordinate with the respective airlines or travel agencies.

This is a health decision to safeguard the right to life and health of individuals, a fundamental right that the State must protect.

Since the beginning of the emergency in January, the country has implemented COVID-19 protocols that extend to international airports, land and sea ports of entry, and owners and managers of tourism services.

Following the detection of the first cases in Costa Rica on March 6, measures have gradually been taken to suspend mass activities, close educational establishments and implement teleworking for public officials and private companies that deem it necessary.

It is important to note that Costa Rica’s health system is one of the best in Latin America. By constitutional mandate and in accordance with the Universal Health Care Act of 1961, public health services are accessible to everyone.
